<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #800000;">May</span></strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">On May 3rd I am leaving to <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Amsterdam</strong></span> for 6 days. </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Coming back on May 9th, landing in <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Milan</strong></span> and staying at a friend&#8217;s place for a couple of nights.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: justify;"><del><span style="color: #000000;">Then, off to <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Bologna</strong></span> for the <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>BlogVille Apartment blog trip</strong><span style="color: #000000;">: </span></span><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><a title="BlogVille Bologna" href="http://www.blogville-emiliaromagna.com/" target="_blank">http://www.blogville-emiliaromagna.com/</a></span></strong> Excited! <p style="text-align: justify;">
<h4 style="text-align: justify;"><strong><span style="color: #000000;">Update: </span></strong></h4>
<h6 style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Unfortunately I won&#8217;t be able to join the BlogVille trip as my blog trip to Saint Vincent and Grenadines in the Caribbean was confirmed! I am sorry for not being able to be in Bologna but I am also very much excited about this new plan. Read all about it <span style="color: #800000;"><a title="Saint Vincent and Grenadines blog trip" href="http://blog.travelreportage.com/2012/04/27/saint-vincent-and-the-grenadines-caribbean-islands/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #800000;">here</span></a></span> and <span style="color: #800000;"><a title="Saint Vincent and Grenadines on Traveldudes" href="http://www.traveldudes.org/travel-diaries/st-vincent-and-grenadines-blog-trip/16762" target="_blank"><span style="color: #800000;">here</span></a></span>! </span></h6>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">After that I want to meet another friend in the Italian Region of <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Abruzzo</strong></span> &#8211; ever heard of it? Well you should check it out as it&#8217;s amazingly beautiful and not too touristy yet! </span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Also I want to pay a visit to <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>L&#8217;Aquila</strong></span>, a city that was destroyed by an earthquake 3 years ago and has been off limits for photographers for a long time. Here I come!</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #800000;">June to August</span></strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Last but not least, I finally decided I am going back to <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Egypt</strong></span> for the summer. Yes I know it will be boiling hot but I was too confused about the monsoon in India. Someone told me it was no-go and someone else told me it&#8217;s not a big deal. So you know what? I am going to Egypt <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>to wait for the monsoon season to be over</strong></span>.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">Relax on the <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Red Sea </strong></span>and some work in <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>Cairo</strong></span> coming up. And because I am tired after the long season at work, it sounds just perfect to me!</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;">I had this crazy idea of <span style="color: #993300;"><strong>going to Egypt from Turkey by land</strong></span>, but it&#8217;s looking harder than I thought. So we&#8217;ll see! </span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<h2><strong><span style="color: #800000;">Autumn 2012</span></strong></h2>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #000000;"><strong><span style="color: #993300;">India</span>!</strong> Currently looking for photography, volunteering and meditation opportunities in the country. Hints appreciated!</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;">How exciting!</span></p>
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="color: #000000;">Can&#8217;t wait to be on the road (or on a plane) again :)</span></p>

<p style="text-align: justify;">I do so to keep track of all the posts I wrote around other websites, as I keep failing in keeping a portfolio or at least a directory of what I wrote for whom. But this is on my (slightly endless) &#8220;to-do&#8221; list.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">I once discovered a photo by me was published on the Telegraph website, and I also found out I got the third place at a photography competition. I didn&#8217;t win anything, but still.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">
<div id="attachment_182" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 310px"><a href="http://travelreportage.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Screen-shot-2012-03-18-at-21.29.43.png"><img class="size-medium wp-image-182" title="My photo on the Telegraph Big Picture competition" src="http://travelreportage.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/03/Screen-shot-2012-03-18-at-21.29.43-300x276.png" alt="My photo on the Telegraph Big Picture competition" width="300" height="276" /></a><p class="wp-caption-text">My photo on the Telegraph Big Picture competition</p></div>
<p style="text-align: justify;">In these days I typed my name and surname in the Google search bar again, and found some more surprises. How nice!</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>On the  &#8221;Nuweiba and Taba&#8221; blog, I found this: <a title="Insights - travelling in Egypt" href="http://nuweibataba.wordpress.com/2012/03/03/insights-travelling-in-egypt/" target="_blank">Insights, travelling in Egypt</a>, where they talk about me!</li>
</ul>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">m</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #808080;"><em>Giulia Cimarosti, 28, is a full-time traveler, photographer and blogger originally from Genova, Italy. She first visited Egypt in 2004 on a family vacation and has returned seven times. A passionate advocate for Egyptian travel, Giulia founded the <a href="http://travelreportage.com/" target="_blank">Travel Reportage</a> blog in 2010 to chronicle her adventures.</em></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #808080;"><em>Giulia experienced the Egyptian Revolution firsthand during a nine-month stay in Cairo that ended in May 2011. During the January 25th revolution, she posted live updates from Cairo; she has covered many facets of the revolution, from travel safety to street art. Giulia keeps her pulse on the latest developments in Egypt and most recently visited from October to November 2011.</em></span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<ul>
<li>On &#8220;Travelingted.tv&#8221; the article <a title="Egypt safe travel" href="http://www.travelingted.tv/2012/02/08/egypt-a-huge-safe-country-to-adventure-travel-in/" target="_blank">Egypt, a huge safe country to adventure travel in</a> also mentions me as follows:</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="color: #ffffff;">m</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><em><span style="color: #808080;">Many prominent bloggers have confirmed the country remains safe despite the turmoil. An article on the Downtown Traveler by </span><a href="http://downtowntraveler.com/2012/01/22/is-it-safe-to-visit-egypt-after-the-revolution-qa-with-travel-blogger-giulia-cimarosti/" target="_blank"><span style="color: #808080;">Giulia Cimarosti </span></a><span style="color: #808080;">declares the country mostly peaceful.</span></em></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">&nbsp;</p>
<p>&#8220;The Expeditioner&#8221; finally quotes me as follows on <a title="Egypt is safe and cheap" href="http://www.theexpeditioner.com/2012/01/31/yes-virginia-its-safe-to-visit-egypt-and-cheap-too/" target="_blank">Yes Virginia, it&#8217;s safe to visit Egypt (and cheap too)</a></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;"><span style="color: #ffffff;">m</span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #808080;"><em>In an effort to get some insight as to what travel is like right now in Egypt, and whether it is in fact safe given the recent political turmoil and <a title="Move to shelter 3 Americans points up U.S. rift with Egypt" href="http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-egypt-americans-20120131,0,3412603.story" target="_blank">much-publicized detaining of three Americans</a> (one of whom is Transportion Secretary Ray LaHood’s son) who were working in Egypt for a U.S.-funded pro-democracy group, friend of The Expeditioner DowntownTraveler.com <a title="Is it safe to visit Egypt after the revolution? Q+A with travel blogger Giulia Cimarosti" href="http://downtowntraveler.com/2012/01/22/is-it-safe-to-visit-egypt-after-the-revolution-qa-with-travel-blogger-giulia-cimarosti/" target="_blank">enlisted the help of local Italian Giulia Cimarosti to give us the skinny</a>.</em></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;"><span style="color: #808080;"><em>In response to the question of whether the tumult in Tahrir Square is indicitive of the rest of the country, Giulia pointed out that “[e]veryone must know that whatever happens in Tahrir Square, the rest of Cairo and — most of all — the rest of Egypt is perfectly safe. This doesn’t mean that the protests are not important, but tourism-wise there are no complications at all.”</em></span></p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">&nbsp;</p>
<p>Thanks everyone! It was such a pleasant surprise. I can&#8217;t wait to quit my job to be able to mingle more and network more. :)</p>

<p>as some of you might know I recently relocated to a place called Breuil-Cervinia, in Northern Italy, right on the border with Switzerland.</p>
<p>This doesn&#8217;t mean I can easily get to the nearby Country because there are some 4000mt high mountains in between! So I&#8217;ll probably end up staying on the Italian side, you know. :)</p>
<p>Everything is going smoothly for now, we have a looot of snow so please consider this place if you are thinking about skiing in Italy! It&#8217;s a beautiful and charming place, and I am working in a beautiful hotel so I wouldn&#8217;t mind asking for a good travel blogger rate! :)</p>
<p>The only news I have for you apart from this is that I was interviewed for the website Travelgeek.com and the interview is finally live, so go check it out! <a href="http://journeygeek.com/traveller/giulia-cimarosti/">http://journeygeek.com/traveller/giulia-cimarosti/</a></p>
<p>Many posts are coming soon, I feel inspired, I finally have a working USB modem and I have not much to do&#8230; good news for the travel blogger life!</p>
<p>I leave you with a photo of me that was used for the interview and that maybe you didn&#8217;t see before, at the Golden Temple, Kyoto, Japan.</p>
<p>Ciao everyone!</p>

<p>Here I am, back from Egypt (again!) and with so many things to write about! Just to name a few:</p>
<ul>
<li>- I joined the volunteers team of &#8220;Characters of Egypt&#8221; Festival again. This festival is basically an annual gathering of all the tribes from all over Egypt, which camp together for 3 nights. We camped on an island on the Nile next to Aswan. The island is called Heisa and there are also Nubian families living on it. It was definitely an amazing experience!</li>
<li>- I visited the 57357 Children Cancer Hospital in Cairo, Egypt. It is an amazingly modern and beautiful building, but the experience was also very tough. I will tell you more soon, and share photos about that day too.</li>
<li>- I witnessed the situation in Egypt now, about 9 months after the Egyptian Revolution. Atmosphere was definitely different, but it was great to be back and see my friends again anyway!</li>
<li>- I didn&#8217;t end up in South America as planned. I&#8217;m broke. That&#8217;s why I am going to work in Italy for a few more months (precisely until April 2012) and then&#8230; surprise surprise. I can&#8217;t tell you now because I don&#8217;t like to tempt faith, you know. :)</li>
<li>- I witnessed Eid el Adha in Cairo &#8211; in this feast, people slaughter cows and sheep on the street. You don&#8217;t wanna see that. I saw that. Okay I will show you the pics.</li>
<li>- One day I went to a cafe in Cairo, opened a magazine and found a photo by me. Yes, there was a clear &#8220;photo by Giulia Cimarosti&#8221; credit underneath. It was such a surprise!</li>
<li>- Last but not least, I finally broke the 100k line on Alexa ranking! A new thing for me and I am happy + excited.</li>
</ul>
<p>Stay tuned and thank you everyone for following me!</p>
<p>Love,</p>
<p>Giulia</p>
